My new layout design.

Aloha,
so I've spent some time on my layout again.
Planning and doing.
I need a station building, which I want to be similar to the old Faller kit B 99 Station Lindental.
So I've started to build a mock up from cardboard.
The original is a bit to small, so I'm changing a few dimensions and also the design a bit.
Yesterday afternoon during load shedding i took everything outside and worked on the garden bench.
First few pieces cut.
Then carefully started assembly and later in the evening I placed it on the layout.

That's not all I've been busy with.
The back section I have been placing and gluing my mountain scene.
Not all section will be secured though as for access I will need to have a few removable sections.

Good evening all,

the cardboard mock up of the station is taking shape.
The restaurant is wider now and slightly longer. Biggest change is that
I have the restaurant on both sides of the building now.
See photo.
The outer big wall clock will be set back a bit.
This is the first time that I'm doing something like this with cardboard.
I must say that I prefer styrene.
When I build the actual station it will be in styrene.
I have also made this building slightly higher, but a bit narrower.

Good evening all,
small update.
Been fiddling around with some lights.
I am trying to have an illuminated control panel in my signal tower.   
Optic fiber and Led's.
This is a first attempt.

after a few hours gluing fiber optics to Led's and then trying to get everything into that small
space its been quite a disappointment.
So back to the drawing board.

Good morning all,
I've done quite some work on the signal tower.
I have fitted secondary walls to the inside, to make them smooth as this model
does not have straight internal walls.
See pics one and two.
Then I also made real wooden walk boards outside, I didn't like the cast on plastic
ones.

Nice Jörg, much better 

I used cardboard to build the internal walls of my HO Station.
Works well and it is easy to shape and paint and hide all the window stuff you glue from the inside.

Real wood for the walkways is brilliant, did not think to do that

Good morning on this rainy day, perfect model train weather. 
The control panel in the signal tower is taking shape.
Looks much better in real life.
But it still needs a few tweaks.
