Good Morning All,

I have also been doing some work on my layout and managed to finish the section around the Castle.
I also added a wall between the road and the track to cater for the level difference. Once worked off and painted nicely I think it will look nice.

Next I think I have to build the last piece of the bench work in the cornet to add the last section of track. It is a 400x800mm section, so very small.
I'm still not sure of what to do with the landscaping and scenery. Was thinking just to make it a forest, but I still have a very nice building for a stone quarry.
So maybe I can do that... It is a bit out of the way, but it will still look very nice I think.
Ideas and comments? I will post some pictures once the bench work is in, then we can debate it

Cool, enjoy the pictures.

Regards,
Evert

I personally think that a stone quarry would maybe be a bit much, to much detail scenes for the space.
Remember less is more.
So maybe just some scenery with a few trees, hikers on a path.
Keep the stone quarry for the next thread titled "Looville Extension to U shape."  >:D

Good Morning All,

Did some more work over the weekend
Filled in all the rocks around the castle, I really think that came out great.

Can't wait to pant that scene......

Then I have also built the last bit of the bench work that will fit at the back in between the two modules.

Small section about 800x350mm.
What a mission to clamp that in place  :( Only two hands and limited space, but it is done and all the foam have been marked.

Next I have to work out the track levels and fit and wire the track.

Cheers,
Evert

Good Morning All,

I also manage to get some nice work done yesterday
Built the profile with Styrofoam sections, so now it is ready for track and covering.

1st Picture is me holding it in position.
2-4 is all the different angles.
5th Picture is the filler pieces I needed to mount it nicely to the Town Module.

Here is some pictures.
Cheers,

Good Morning All.

I did some nice work again this weekend
Covered all the Styrofoam and fitted the module to the rest of my layout. Everything worked out really well.
I also started to build the mountain that will be behind the castle.

Tonight I will try to lay the final section of track and glue that in place.
Then later in the week I can finish the electrical for that and hopefully run a train all around the layout.
That will be exciting  :thumb:

Enjoy the Pictures.
Cheers,
Evert

Hi Evert,
that is coming together very nicely.
Yes that first train to run all around the layout will be very exiting.
Enjoy that moment.
Cheers.

Good Morning All,

I did quite some work over the weekend, so that is awesome
I finished all the Creatstone covering and added in the last of the rocks as well.

Here is some pictures of that.
Enjoy.

Then Saturday evening and Sunday I started to paint the rocks....

My wife told me that I should create a nice river with a dam on the corner piece.
The way I created the module is sort of have the space and the landscape for it.

So what do you guys think? Yes or know.
My idea was to just have woods and landscape, but a lake and river does sound nice.

A dam, yes definitely we need more dams built in the Western Cape.

Okay on a more serious note I have looked at your photo of the corner piece and think
it might be a bit to small to realistically fit a dam in there.
Don't get me wrong, water features are a fantastic detailing possibility on any layout
and can be a lot of fun to build.
Less is more, so maybe like you planned just landscaping with trees.
The dam can always be built on the next extension to U shape.  >:D
