Hi everybody,
hope you are enjoying the rain.  :thumb:
I did find a long enough piece of N scale flex track last night so today I got to work to split it.
I also considered to have the slot for the rod that will move the crane inside the crane so it won't be that obvious.
Track loosely on the board.

Hello everybody,
thanks for the offers for N scale track.  :thumb:
A bit of progress to report, I have glued down the K track and then filled in the spaces between these
with a second layer of cork as can be seen in the second photo.
Then I carefully lined up and glued on the split N scale track, first the one, left to set for 24 hours and
then lined up the second one, tested and glued that down as well.
Last photo shows the crane on the track, yes it can roll freely.  :thumb: :thumb:
Tonight I will try and solder wires to all the tracks and connect some power.

Hi,

okay tonight was a big moment, I connected the track power and placed the crane on its track,
yes I have power at the top.  :thumb: :thumb:
As can be seen by the light bulb in my fingers in the first photo.
Then I placed the 2 mm rod with a 90°bend in place and pressed the button.
The crane moves, its a bit jerky, but it works.

Hi there,

spent a bit of time with this as well and found that by adjusting the tension on the belt drive
the crane move a bit better.
I still want to improve the wheels a bit and then see if I can find the sweet spot for the belt tension.

Hi there,
no update on my crane project, but I did find a very neat and well working
drive system on you tube.
This is for TT scale.
Much more complex compared to mine, but smoother operation.
