Hi everybody,
don't get excited no new work has been done.
But I've had some fun running different trains for my pleasure.
I did also take a few photo's.
Simple hand held point and shoot camera.
So the pics are not 100% clear, but I like them anyway.  :thumb:
Enjoy.

Hi,
My name is Alex, I am new here, where are you getting your backdrops?
I am going to go with self adhesive vinyl, which I will adhere to the a
ABS sheets which will be attached to the walls,
that way I can curve the ABS in the corners,
You apply the vinyl wet, with soapy water to eliminate bubbles and creases,
dries in 24 to 48 hours,
Hope this helps, been in the advertising business for 16 years, that's how we apply it on small format advertising boards,
I received a quote from a back ground company in the U.S, they want $4 200.00 to make it up,
plus postage and customs, too rich for my blood,
Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,
welcome here.
I got my backdrops from Faller.
Most hobby shops stock some backdrops. I know the one in Plumstead has a few on offer.
I know about the trick using soapy water to apply vinyl without creases and bubbles, but these backdrops are made
of paper so that will not work so well as the paper is quite thin and tears easily when wet.
Regards Jörg.

Aloha,
did a bit of work last night and tonight.
Basically cut some off cut plywood in a more or less shape of the scenery and attached
that to the layout.

Glued some wood blocks to the backdrop and then added some fine
aluminium mesh which will then be the base for the plaster of paris.

Oh what fun  :thumb:

That will really look nice, like your idea with the hills to disguise the overlapping of the backdrop.
Once done you can just colour the sky to mach.....

Going to look awesome, can't wait

Enjoy.....

Had some time and threw some plaster at the mountain. ;D
Must just add that the aluminium mesh that I bought locally is no where as strong
as the one from Germany.
But a lot more affordable, so I just had to let the plaster set before adding more.
Now I have to wait for it to dry out properly and then I can throw some paint at it.
