So the wife is away for the weekend and I decided to use the opportunity to use the dining room table to set up a test build of the Southern Station entrance. just wanted to get a feel for it.
Seeing it for real is always a bit different than on a computer screen or on a paper plan.
Well I discovered that my platforms are to narrow for my liking, so I changed it around a bit and got some extra 20mm width for the platforms.  :thumb:

Most times due to space constraints model platforms are quite a bit to narrow, so I'm quite happy to be able to make them a bit wider.
Now its back to the drawing board to change the plan, but that is no problem, look forward to it.

Yes, now to put track to plank...

Hmmm, that dining room table would make some nice plank for the layout...  >:D  Just cut the ends straight.

Sitting here coming down with the flu, but I got to work on the track plan to incorporate the changes.
Also changed the industrial tracks in the upper left section. Looks better to me now.
Wider platforms fit in well, very chuffed with the result.
Cheers Jörg.

Okay I'm back in one piece, but with a broken bike >:D, from an awesome trip to Lesotho, beautiful country.
Today I stole a bit of time of work and went shopping.
Eight sheets of plywood for the layout.

Tonight I started laying out some track so that I can mark out the cuts on the first few boards and maybe cut on Saturday.  :thumb:

Will post results when I have done so.

So today the circular saw and jig saw came out and I made lots of saw dust.  :)
Made a total of nine baseboards for the 2 staging yards.
Here are the results, track just lying loose on the boards to check for fit.
