You'll need to switch to N scale first.  :thumb:

The other alternative is to have a layout room that is almost twice the size.  ;)

Niel,

This is where (HO)rribly oversized ferroequinologists get the benefits on (N)ormal wrong; it equates to FOUR times the footprint, not merely double !

Good Morning All,

As promised, I did some work over the past week and weekend and I think I have a yard with all the steam equipment that can work and that I'm happy with.

The grid is 100mm

The green section is my current layout. I will keep it as a module that I can take to the shows. There will be a few changes I have to make, but it is just on the 3 lines in front of the station.

Then the 2 red rectangles is the new layout.
Top left will be hills with a Castle.
Top right will be mountain (RoundHouse will be up against the slopes of the mountain) all the way to the left connecting with the hills.
Right edge will have a bridge and middle back just before the point will be a wooden trestle bridge.
The two grey sections of track will go to a second layout below. This will be just to store 3 or 4 built up trains.

Please give me your input and comments.
Lots of work and time is going to go into this layout, so I want it to work well.

Thank you and speak again.
Cheers.
Evert.

Hi Evert,
looks great, just have one question, is there a reason that the section of track in the red circle is so curved?
Regards Jörg.

Good Morning Jörg,

Yea, I'm not to sure about that bit hey. I could not make it work as a curve and still have it bigger than 300mm.
I think I will sort that part out when I actually build it. Will have to see...

Cheers.

Okay, when you build try and do that section with flextrack.
You should then be able to get a nice smooth line with an easy radius.
Cheers Jörg.

Jip,

I build with Peco Flex Code 80. I have about 100m 4x boxes of it at home already and I have about 20 left and 20 right Electrofrog points.
So I think I can get a far way.
I just need to buy all the wood for the bench work still. Then everything can start.  :thumb:

Cheers,
Evert

100 meters of N scale flextrack, wow how far do you want to extend your layout?  :thumb:

Evert, I think this will give you a lot of fun. You might have to make a tweak or two when you build it, but it looks stunning so far.

Hi Evert,

That can work.

As Jörg pointed out the S-bend that he circled is a concern but you've already addressed that.

Otherwise it looks good to me.

Cheers,

Niel

Thank you very much for all the comments.

Thank you Niel for responding. And yes, as Ed also said, I'll have to tweak one or two things as I build.
Nothing is cast in stone.

Once all the bench work is done and the buildings footprints is made I will pack the track out and then we see again.
But I'll keep everything and averybody up to date with the progress. I'll be doing a full build pictorial again  :thumb:

Can't wait to start.
Cheers,
Evert
