I for one would love at least a river, but probably some little dam will be nice too. It's a castle after all...

The tunnel unto the wall area - are you going to close it up? Fix it against the wall (which I suspect will prevent it being removed)?

Amazing what a little paint can do...

And smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry
And all you touch and all you see

Ed the way I understand Evert correctly he meant on the corner piece, not at the castle.
On this piece here, I think a dam may be a bit much there.
But that is my opinion.

Good Morning All,

Small update from my side.
I added the stairs from the "parking" up to the castle, just have to paint them still.
Then I need to find pebble paper for the "parking" area.

I also painted the Fascia of the layout

Cool, enjoy the day and speak again.
Regards,
Evert

Good Morning All,

I did some nice work over the weekend
Between the re-wiring of the club Layout and working at home I still manage to do quite a bit, so I'm happy.

Pic 01 and 02:
I painted the earth brown on the corner section and started to add some grass and earth blend.

Pic 03 - 05:
It painted quite a bit of the earth brown around the castle and around the Saw Mill pond and river.
Last night I painted the Moat, River and the Saw Mill Pond. Think I like the look. Colour is not as bright as it shows on the pictures.

I had a look on Google for colours and it pretty much goes from bright lime green to bright blue, brown and almost black.
So at the end of the day it does not really matter. It all depends on what grows around it and how the sky look.

Enjoy the pix and speak again.  :thumb:
Regards,
Evert

Good Morning All,

I have also spent some time on my layout this weekend.

I painted the water and finished all the "grass", I like it.
Now it can be joined back on to my layout.
Bushes, Trees and all the details. Oh and backdrop......

I also painted a little bit more by the road that is coming from the Town and leading up to the castle.

Cheers and speak again soon.
Most probably next week as we are going camping from the 25th till the 2nd of May.

Regards,
Evert

Good Morning All,

Had a great weekend and lots of train time

Ed bought me some pebble stone card stock so I installed it this past weekend.
It is going to be the parking and road up to the castle.

1st pic show the original white card and the grey after I have painted it.
2nd the grass and weathering is done.
3rd is the whole single narrow road up to the castle.
Last one is a bit of an overview.

I think it came out very well.
Now the basics is done. Next is bushes, trees and lots of other details.

Cheers,
Evert.

Hello Again.....

Did some more work.....
I fitted all the pieces together and I finally ran a train around my whole layout.

1st pic, the cornet piece is fitted, the connection was good and the track fits perfect.
Only disappointment is the colour of the grass  :(
But, the town is 10 years old and the corner is not even a month old yet. So I will have to blend a bit on the town module, but overall I'm very happy with the look.

Then yesterday I finishes all the feeder wires for the yard and I made the connections to have everything together.
The Yard and the Town fits together very nicely also.
I had to clean the layout properly as it is almost 2 years since a loco ran on the Yard module.

Everything clean and trains was running...... WOW..... Sooooooooo COOL !!!!!! I'm so happy, finally it all works.

I will do a short video and upload it to Youtube. Then I will post the link here.

Cheers and enjoy the day.
Regards,
Evert  :thumb:

Hi Evert,
wow, looks like you managed to do a lot more than me this weekend. :thumb:
Joining the parts together and running the first train right around is awesome.
I hope you had a bottle of champagne on hand.
The road to the castle and parking came out perfectly.
