Good Morning All.....
Long overdue update  ;D

I spend quite some time laying track and getting everything correct.
Thank you Steve for your input  :thumb:
Thank you Ed for the visit and the help with the track in and out of the turn table.  :thumb:

First pic. The loose piece it the original. We pulled the Fleichmann track off the section and I removed the part where the sleepers are and we fitted the Peco track. Perfect.....

Last pic is the full extension layout. Most track is layed. I have to complete the end of the mainline and add the section around the back of the round house. Then I can test and start to fit permanently.

Cool, speak again after the holidays.
Be safe.
Cheers,
Evert  :thumb:

LOL, yea, I have enough round house parts to almost make a full circle, but unfortunately I do not have that kind of space. And the other problem is I can not get the current ons apart. The parts will break. It is glued together to well.

Good Afternoon Everybody.....

I know it was a loooong time, but we were away for Holiday.
But I was clever and took some train stuff with to keep myself busy for when we not site seeing  ;D

I took my Roundhouse with. Nice kit-bash project.
I got quite a few parts from a friend and, but no side walls, so I bought a 6 stall one with side walls off bid-or-buy.
It was a bit broken and I needed to dismantle the floor of the building.
few things broke in the process, but with all the parts I manage to build and paint a 6 stall roundhouse that I'm quite happy with.

Here is some pictures.....
First pic is the original colours of the plastic.
I still have to do the doors, but first have to get to a shop to get some paint.

Hi All.....

More updates  :) small one.....
I built my own Inspection pits, built 2.....
I built it from 1.5mm and 1mm cardboard.

Fitted it to the layout this afternoon. One will be inside the Roundhouse and the other one on the outside with a crane over the track.

Glad that you are safely back from holiday.
I like your roundhouse, now all it needs is some servo motors to remotely open and close the doors.  >:D
Of course these should be mounted under the layout.
An idea for the outside inspection pit, in steam times these where also used as ash pits and filled with water.
Now if you fit a smoke unit in the outside ash pit and park a steamer on there and switch on the smoke unit it can give an awesome scene. I did this on a friend HO layout once. Pity I don't have any photo's of it.
Cheers.  :thumb:

Some awesome ideas there, thank you.
The idea is to fit and crane above the outside pit.
I'm going to build an ash pit at the inbound to the turn table. Sand tower is going to go at the outbound.

Cheers......

Good Morning All.....

Did some more work in the week  ;D
I fitted the floor of the roundhouse and I filled the edge between the track and the roundhouse floor with creet stone.
This is all nicely dried now. I sanded one last night just to see if it will work. Think it will look pretty cool once it is done.

When the sanding is finished I'll paint the floor a concrete colour.

Cheers and speak again most probably after the New Year.
Cheers and have fun  :thumb:

Good Morning All.

Happy 2016 and all the best for the New Year. New beginnings and lots of new things to happen  ;D Going to be an awesome YEAR  :howzit:

I have also played a bit with the trains....
I tried scratch building an ash pit and it came out quite well. I really like the look of it.
I built it from 1.5mm cardboard and I bought paper that looks like a stone wall for the sides.

Here is some pictures.
I have also glued down 99% of all the track. So everything is comming together quite nicely.

Cheers, have a great day and chat again soon.
