Next episode will take some time.
Must first get some more parts from Germany.

Postal Service back to normal?

Nope, I think that will still take some time.

Anyway I have spent a bit of time this weekend on this project again.
First photo shows how it looked before,
second photo after I had used the hacksaw and cut off the original light bulb holder.
Then I milled the front face straight and temporally glued that new front portion on.
Last two photos.
Its a bit to high, but that will be sorted in the next few days.

Hi everybody,

I know what I'll be doing over the holidays. :thumb:
It looks like a lot of stuff, but some are double as I was not sure which item would work best.

Hi everybody,
so last night I had no feeling to work on my layout and decided to have a look at
all these parts that arrived some weeks ago.
Most important to me was the smoke box door in front.
I had ordered two as I was not sure which would work better.
I unfortunately discovered that the Märklin boiler is to big, I guess that they
designed the boiler with a bigger diameter to get the motor and gearbox in there.
So it looks like I won't be able to use these parts.
Have a look, you can clearly see that the new parts are smaller.

Ai........ That's not good.
Will have to see if you can use the current one and just detail it nicely.

Yes I will have to consider how and what I can do with the
original part.
Time will tell.

Aloha,
small update on this project.
Lights.
I ordered two tiny 0402 warm white Led's from Germany that arrived with all the other parts.
As I know I need to order more I wanted to check how I like these.
I have a few of these brass casting headlights, but there is no hole for wires and the inside can't really accommodate
anything.
So I milled out the inside.
Then I removed the casting spruce and milled the foot straight.
As the foot is only 2 mm wide I did not want to use the brass tubes that I have as these are 1,5 or 1,57 mm in diameter.
This would make the lantern casting a bit to weak I think.
So I took a 1,5 mm brass tube and placed it in my mill and while it was running carefully filled the tube thinner.
Now 1,2 mm.
Then a 1,2 mm hole in the lantern.

Then I soldered the tube into the casting.
With that the time came to feed the wires through from one of the Led's, connect the
supplied resistor and connect.
For now I'm using a 9 volt battery and the Led is not secured in the lantern.
The lanterns will be painted white inside and then the Led glued in.
Either I will get the original Weinert lens or fill it up with clear coat.
But for now I'm happy with the result and will be ordering a few more of these Led's.
