A few night shots.
Note the light shining out of the sky lights.

Hi all,

just a small update tonight.
All that I've done is a scenery piece right at the back.
The rocks still need some more color and then some grass and bushes.

Hi all,

did a bit over the weekend.
Planted some grass.  ;D
I did that with the scenery piece off the layout so the first photos are with the part lying
across the station tracks.

Hi all,

I've been busy as well.
Gave the loco depot a good clean and started to really consider where to place what.
Also fitted an extra piece of plywood to see how the city scene as well as a bit of industrial
is going to look.
Note that the water tower is in different positions, testing out were I like it more.

This building, from Vollmer are two kits combined into one longer one.
I am considering to place it here, slightly raised with a curved road for
the car system bus to drive up there.

Nice one, Always good to have a clean space to work from.
I like the raised town space, make the scenery look much more interesting.

Hi all,
after seeing a very interesting German you tube video on weathering the turntable I decided to try and
do the same.
First photo shows the turntable remove from the layout in its original state.
Second photo I'm applying the first grey paint coat, these turntables were made of precast concrete slabs.
So I'm trying to recreate dirty, cracked and weathered concrete.

So after spending lots of time dabbing different grey tones onto the base with torn scraps on sponge
it looks like this now.
Then I drew in the lines for the precast concrete sections by spanning  a piece of string across the turntable
and then using a fine permanent marker. Sorry I forgot to take photos of this step.
Then I also drew in some cracks. Although I think I might have gone a bit overboard on the cracks.  ::)

Hi all,
small update from me.
I have now completed all the track in the loco depot.  :thumb:
I have also connected all the roundhouse tracks to power from the control
panel. So besides the turntable giving power to any track it is aligned with I can individually
switch any track on.
Now I need to build the roundhouse, first materials have been ordered.
I am scratch building a 7 stall house.
Watch this space.
Two photos.

Nice one Jörg.

Turntable came out very good, looks great.
Oooooo, that is going to be a huge build. I had to kit bash mine as there was so many parts missing and that was a huge task already

Looking forward to see the progress on that.

Cheers, Evert.

Thanks for the positive replies to my turntable.  :thumb:
I want to have a inspection pit in one of the loco sheds, but this needs some lights.
I had the idea to place a optic fiber along the top and two Led's outside shining into the
optic fiber.
Well that was not very effective.
So I placed six Led's in series last night and this will work much better.
Will do another row of Led's tonight on the other side.
Once fitted I can still play around with resistors to dim it down a bit.
