Two nice desks.
One with a imitation table lamp that does not work.
Those that know me will realize what happens now.  ;D
If you look closely you will notice the one desk has a telephone without the receiver in place.
Well one of the people in the set sitting on an office chair has the receiver held to his ear. Second photo.

Small hole drilled into the desk and a 1 mm brass rod cut and bent to shape.

Carefully filed a flat on the one end and soldered a Smd Led directly to the rod.
Then fine copper wire to other pole of Led and glued that to the rod and stuck it through the hole.
Now I need to make a lamp shade.

Very nice! Must be nice to be able to work in horribly oversized scale... :innocent: :peep:

Just imagine the detail I could add in Scale 2.

Aloha,
at the top of page 107 I mentioned that I could not find my points and set track
for the narrow gauge line.
Well I still haven't found them.  ::)
But just before Christmas a big box of used track was dropped off at my house.
Well I have now been playing with different ideas.
This is what it currently looks like.

Hi all,

it's been a while and unfortunately I have done very little on the layout and trains.
But I have done something.
Decided to do a bit o my signal tower interior.
Cupboard in one corner, a few open doors showing clothes hanging inside.
Desk in another corner with working table lamp.
I also fitted a guard railing around the steps so nobody falls down, this still needs to be painted.
Table in the middle with a case of beer and one worker sitting and drinking on the job.  :D

I have for some time been trying to figure out how to solder brass parts together
nice and straight.
The parts keep moving and then its all skew.
Now overseas there is a company that sells a ceramic plate with lots off holes witch
accept clamps so you can line up the parts clamp them and then solder.
Getting that here is the problem.
Been thinking how to make my own. Doubt it would really be accurate.
This weekend I had an idea.
Graph paper stuck to a piece of wood and some home made screw down clamps.
First photo, graph paper on the wood.
Second photo, the first clamps with the brass items aligned and clamped.
Yes I used ice cream sticks, very handy.

I want to make a long fence, this needs posts, so I need to clamp these and solder these to the fence.
I am happy to say that my idea has proved to be successful.  :thumb:

I made a "hold-down board" by taking a rectangular piece of 9mm plywood and glueing on a few layers of 3mm cork sheeting.  I use notice board push pins to hold whatever I am glueing / soldering.

Hi all,
although I have not posted in a while I have been making progress.
I finally received some items from Preiser that I had ordered more than a year ago.
So now I've been placing plates and food on the tables in the restaurant as well as
people busy having lunch.
Not done yet, these little details take time.  ;) But are also a lot of fun.
