Aloha,
managed to get all switches on the mainline working now.
Only the two double slips and the loco depot to do now.

Good evening all,
Friday evening update.
Thanks to Evert who kindly visited me tonight to help me hang the control panel. :thumb:
So now I have to connect it all to the layout.
Watch this space and stay tuned.
A few photos for everybody's viewing pleasure. :)

Good morning,
so last night I had some time and managed to get the first two boosters connected to the layout.
Lower staging yards and main station are under power and trains can drive again.  :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
More coming today.

Sunday afternoon update.
All four boosters are connected and I can run trains again.  :happydays:
One or two niggles to sort out and then connect the staging yards as up to now
they where just connected permanently under power.

Enjoyed a few hours of running trains.  :thumb:
Also sorted out the first little niggle.
A tiny blob of solder had fallen across the legs of a Led causing a partial short.  ::)

Good Morning Jörg,

Very, Very nice  Looks GREAT  :thumb:
Was awesome to see the layout again.

I'll come help you with that stone wall, doing the mortar and show you the way I do it.
This nice thing if it is a flop, then we just repaint it

Awesome, will that again and enjoy the trains running.

Cheers, Evert  :thumb:

Good evening all,
short update, after a few hours of soldering in awkward positions and pulling
lots of copper wire my upper staging yard is now fully functional.  :thumb: :thumb:
Note all the red Led's that are now on signifying that the track is occupied.

Good morning all,
so last night the second staging yard was connected to the control panel.
Now I have to do all the feed back tracks for the signal block system.
Stay tuned.

Aloha,
short update without photos.
Had lots of plans for the long weekend, but ended up with major frustration.
I snookered myself to say it nicely, I had designed a fault into my signal modules which then
as I connected more of them and to different transformers, caused a voltage spike.
They are supposed to work on about 20 V DC, but I suddenly had over 50 Volts.  :eek2: :loco: :lamer:
I noticed a crackling sound when I switched the layout off, much like a car cooling down that's been driven very fast.
Then I noticed resistors that where discolored.
I was very lucky that none of the Led's in the signals got damaged, as they are glued in and those particular Led's
are not available here in SA.
I would have had to order all new signals.
Its sorted now and I've spent as much time as possible connecting all the feed back wires and programming the routes.
Now I just need to get a few more reed switches to complete the system.
