All is well and we are safely back from holiday also  :thumb:

Welcome back.

Hi there,
so tonight the last piece of cork road bed was glued down for the mainline.  :thumb:
Of course I did not stop there,
three pieces of flex track later and the out line of the station is done.
I can now run a train right through the station and continue up and around the back parade track.  :thumb: :thumb:
Not long till the golden spike now.

To complete the main line I need to lay 99 cm of track.
Yes less than one single meter.
But I think that I have done enough track laying now so I will do that over the next
December holidays at the end of the year.  >:D >:D

Hi everybody,

haha, you know me to well. I would never wait so long.  ;D
That last bit of track was still laid on the same evening.  :thumb:
At 12:30 Friday morning the first train, the Rheingold, arrived in the station after the first full
mainline run.  :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

So last night I sat down and just let a few trains run and enjoyed it.
When suddenly everything stopped. :eek2:
Dead short.  :blech:
Now to find that.

Oh no!

Everything off and check,
Check last tracks laid,
Check Control Unit,
Off course look for small steel pieces/wires in between track.

Not good, but you will find it. :thumb:

Good evening,

found the short. Signal module cap blew and one booster also blown.  :blech:
Trying to figure out what went wrong.
Removed the signal module, replaced the booster, but no power to the upper tracks and station now. :loco:
So more fault finding.

Aloha on a beautiful Sunday afternoon.
Trains are running again, I discovered that I had unintentionally wired all the track
power via this signal module.  ::)   Oops.
So while I only had a return loop at the top it worked, but now with the station and more trains drawing current
something had to give.
So I've routed an extra wire from the booster and it all works again, of course not the signal as this will first
have to be repaired.
So I just enjoyed watching a few trains run.
Then I got out the test car that I had recently acquired S/H.
Speed read out in scale km/h

Of course that not all it can do.
Distance traveled, in actual meters or scale km's
So I set it up for one complete loop.
First photo actual meters for one complete mainline run.
Second photo the same in scale km's.

Nice Jörg, good to hear you found the problem and that it is sorted out now.

That is a very nice item to have on a layout  I like it.
