Mmmmm, working from 2 directions and on a incline to get them together can be tricky in any mans book.

Don't worry I am not working from 2 directions, I had just cut the boards and they are only clamped on temporally.

Doing a few things tonight I suddenly had a good idea, yes I do get them from time to time.  :D
Regarding the gradients that I discovered I had incorrectly worked out and was now considering to ad a helix, in a previous post I called it a spiral, but the correct name is a helix.
Well I might not have to do that and will be able to retain my original planned free space in the room.
Will have to sit down and do some planning to check how it works out, but I am very confident that my solution will be workable. :thumb:
Of to bed now.

Small update, without photo's as my camera has gone awol. >:D
Some more track has been laid, bought 2 boxes of track screws.
Made a wooden circle, basically a left over plank, screw on one side to centre and then drilled holes at different track radiuses to mark off the cut lines on the plywood. Works great and one sheet of plywood has been cut this week.
Have 5 more track segments that are prepared.  :thumb:
More on their way.
Also spent some time looking for my bridge parts and glad to say that I found all of them.
Lots of ideas running around in my head, even for the scenery already.  :)
If daily work would just not interrupt me all the time.  ::)
Cheers.

Many moons ago I made a compass for myself. Very simple but effective... I can do almost 1m radius with it - more than enough for N scale.

That was the word I was looking for last night.  ::)
Mine goes up to 1.3 meters.
Found the camera as well so will be taking photo's soon.

More saw dust was produced.
Track sections cut out, the three same ones have a inner radius of 1200mm this is for the upper level half circle.

The 1200mm radius sections testing for fit, will be much higher later though.

I want to have the castle as the highest point on the layout.
Can't make up my mind if I must have a short tunnel under the castle or if I must bring that large curve a bit more forward
to have the trains visible all the way around.

The 550mm and 620mm radius section in place, must just be lifted now, bridges also found and set out where I want them.

Hope to get some more done in the coming week or two.
Also planning to visit the Cederberg again in June for 2 or 3 days, so not only time for the trains.
