The green LED indicates a signal?

Yes, there is a red one as well. So if I'm working under the layout I can see what the signal is showing.  :thumb:
Just to make my life easier.

Saturday night update.
Spent lots of time today wiring up the signals.
Glad to say that both signals are now working.  :thumb:
One to go.
Next step is to get more of these neodymium magnets and mount these under the loco's near the pick up shoe.
Lots of fine tuning to do.
The gap to the reed switch is quite critical, but if I get to close then the magnets get stuck on the centre stud at the
points.
Two rail systems are so much easier in this aspect.

First four signals on the current section working.
Just had two trains running at different speeds for one hour with no accidents.
Next signal in progress.  :thumb:

So after the successful weekend, Monday evening became very frustrating. On Sunday I had etched the next circuit board for the signals and set about soldering in all the components.
All done I connect the power and ten seconds later I see smoke. A lot of heat as well. So I start checking, can't find a fault. Desolder components still have a short.
Finally give up and went to bed.
Tonight I checked again and finally found that the one new diode 1N4148 is faulty.  :bluduh:  :blech:
Replaced that and it works correctly now.  :thumb:
Fitted to layout and the last signal for now is illumated now. Wednesday evening I must connect the track power and feed back and then some more testing needs to be done.
Stay tuned.

Hi everybody,
glad to report that the fifth signal is now also fully operational.  :thumb:
That's all the signals up to now.
Next step clean up a bit and then do some fine tuning on the trains.
Then some scenery work again.

Hi everybody,
spent the weekend applying magnets to some loco's and testing those.
Had quite a bit of pleasure running trains in automatic mode, just sit back and enjoy.
Also spent some time trying out a circuit to simulate fire in the braais.
Looks like I have that figured out as well, now I just need to get some
more orange Led's.
Then I can finish the camping site.  :thumb:

I need to see this...  :eek2:
