Good evening train friends,

We have a nice nip in the air and the modeling continues.

Assembled the three trunking in the shed and yes..... sorry I did not arrange the colour schemes as previously requested. I must make a note of that...... ;)

The foreman still on duty.....

And the first night shots.

Not too bad, but I am missing some clarity.

The cell phone makes it look much brighter than what it really is.

In real life as discussed with Jörg the loco sheds were really dim lit to almost dark. When oiling the bearings the men had oil burners for light. I speak for DB.

So I had an idea. I masked off the area on the inside of the shed roof, gave it a coat of primer and two coats of white.

Again the cell picture does not give the true reflection of the ambiance. There is a red glow visible in real. You'll have to come and see for yourself.  :D ;)

But, let me know what you think.

I like the details, like the power boxes against the back,
but the lighting looks to bright.
Also the walls would tend to be dirty, especially in the lower third.

Good day dear train friends,

Thank you for the positive feedback.

I like the details, like the power boxes against the back,
but the lighting looks to bright.
Also the walls would tend to be dirty, especially in the lower third.

New phone, too many functions, however in real time it does not look that bright at all. Also I switched the overhead "search lights" off in the Train Room. Must make a note of that.....  ;)

Black oil marks on the wall by the artisans still to come. It's a brand new Locoshed.

More to come.......  ;)

Everybody is excited, the lifting rope broke and looking for the back-up....  :D

The unpacking is going to be so much fun.

The Foreman is happy....

Until next time.

Nice scenes of the delivery of machinery.
There is something that bothers me in your shed.
The track should be in the floor and not on it.
Try and cut the plastic where the track is out.
That would lower the track a bit, then start to fill up the rest of the floor with
sheet styrene from the hobby shop.

Very, Very nice Werner.

I like your scenes, very cool.

Yes, the track should be in the floor, normally only the track is visible. Ties is covered with the flooring and one of them can have an inspection pit with some welders  :thumb:  O:-)

Looks great so far.....
Cheers, Evert

Hi guys,

Thank you for the good feed back.  :thumb:

The track on top of the plastic floor on the inside worried me as well. I was thinking of thin Balsa wood or even plain hardboard. The tracks should actually not be visible.

With a dark colour for the ground floor. Between the rails should also be covered. The third rail will just have to stay. The joy of 3 rail.

The ground outside of the locoshed must also blend into the inside.

The crates were handmade, rough and ready for any type of transport in the 50's and 60's.

Appreciate the compliments.  :D

Werner, if you are willing to test something....

The floor of you LocoShed.... I would pour a watery mixture of creatstone on the outside of the track level with the top of the rail.
For the inside I would fill it till the top of the sleepers. Once it is dry you can sand it lightly and then paint. Should work well and will look GREAT.....  :thumb:

If you do not want it that permanent, build it from bluefoam, easy to work with, to shape and sand. Same way I built my HO platforms.
I would also build the outside of the track level with the top of the rails and inside level with the top of the sleepers. Should work quite well.

Just my idea.....

Cheers, Evert.

Hi Evert, thank you so much for your suggestions.

Yes I am busy with putting a level in the shed to the tracks using Balsa wood.

Going to spray the primer in a few minutes and see how that comes out.

The pit is "dug, bricked up, steps built and painted".

Tracks are laid and it looks great.

Will keep you posted.

Best regards
