Dear Friends,

It's been a while since my last post, but my dear friend who visited me on the weekend encouraged me not to give up. It's been rough the last year and 9 months, but I believe I'm winning. Thanks mate 

I will be giving you short feed-backs as a lot happened. There might even be gaps, but the pics will tell a tale.

There was a lot of mixing of cretestone and news paper balls rolled to make the moutains.

The cake mixer was not my idea. Please note the delicate hands of user. I was told it was going to take forever and therefore "more power!"

If I remember correctly the layout of my Dad was 4.5 x 3,5m. This picture dates 1968.

A colleague of mine who saw this layout in 1973 discussed and remembers the details of the the layout. Fond memories.

The backdrop was done by my Dads friend over a weekend. Onkel Alex did metal work as well.

Those were the day when you need a stoep everybody came to help.

Good day all,

Herewith an update with even more cretestone and modeling.

Then I had  a brilliant idea to make a hatch with......... fibre glass. Oh dear. Had to go back for more resin, hardner and cloth, but in the end it got hard. I think it took a week or so. 

Golly it looks like a sail or jib or something. On that we will plant a vineyard, wine press with workers etc.

Some more feed back. This time we painted. 

Please believe us we used all PNA's stock to cover the crete stone. Colleen put on 6 layers of paint. I believe it was 35 degrees plus at the time we did this.

That is really looking GREAT Werner.
I like the hatch, very good idea, and making it from Fiberglass will keep it light and you can achieve a awesome flowing shape that will blend into the layout.

Oh wow, nice paint job Colleen, it is so awesome that you guys build together. Very cool.

Love the panoramic pictures, really give a awesome overview.
