More update on the making of the Vineyard......

Strip the end of twin core flex as the first picture shows and then twist the copper strands not to tight and then it gives the actual look of the vine with the twisted bark.

I have never done this before so my friend Mr. google helped me a lot.

I decided to make a little demo model to ensure I leave enough to "plant" said vine.

To make "hundreds" of vine trees I made myself a template to ensure rather more than to little left over after snipping to size.

Unfortunately i can't find a picture of painting the white glue onto the vine tree and plastering brown dyed sawdust onto said vine.

The drying takes you to the next day when the work really starts.

And don't forget the obligatory breaks with muffins and cuppuccino.

Enjoy the pics until next time I show how to make the actual vines.

Hi there dear friends! I trust you are all well!

Now that my birthday is over, and it was a BIG number, I can show some more progress.  ;) All this time available is just awesome!  :innocent:

I found some Heki Decorvlies which was cut into little rectangles, are we aloud to advertise here Ed?  :innocent:

And then "teased" into thinner and bigger rectangles.

A liitle bit of Bostik Gel on the copper wire and stuck onto the vine. Quiet easy but not 130 times!  :D The sales lady at PNA is starting to know us very well, especially if you use lots of glue!!

Oh, and you can see the vine bark on the copper nicely!  ;)

Oh yes before I forget.... I had to buy washing line pegs. You kinda use a lot of them.  :D

Once the gel glue has set you trim off the edges and make a nice square area for the flakes to sit on and we used unscented hair spray, the extra strong one! Much cheaper than the spray-on glue.

Spray the hairspray on and then pour green flakes on the Heki Decorvlies. The green flakes we got at the Toy Show.

The flakes were a bit too big, but my Dad taught me a trick that he used when he was building his layout in the sixties. He put the flakes in my Mom's coffee grinder!  :D Still got the grinder and yes it does work.

Let the flakes and glue cure say 30 minutes and can then be placed in the vineyard. I think the pics will tell the story as well!

I don't want to be a nit picker, but I can't see any grapes.

Other than that minor detail, it looks really good.
