I now file the window openings slightly bigger than the window and make
a window frame from 2.5 x 2.5 polystyrene angle profiles.
These are glued to the outside wall as seen in this photo.

The window then fits very nicely inside the wall and rests against the window frame.
Photos from inside and outside.
Lots of work still ahead for me. ::)

Hi all,

a bit of progress on the roundhouse.
I've now glued the first two wall sections together as seen in the first photo.
Second photo shows the next wall section being glued.

Hi all,

a bit of progress to report on the roundhouse before I get some more items next
week for the Steam loco project.  :)
I want the doors on the roundhouse to be functional, so I've been playing with different
ideas in my head for a while now.
I'm busy with the first one.
As it's getting more and more difficult to get the brass profiles that I want, I decided to have
a try with old rail.
First door taking shape.

Now to make a hinge, small brass tubing and rod.
First ideas in this photo.

With some very careful soldering I managed to get the hinge to work.
Door frame still needs to be completed, it must also be made slightly
narrower as I could only guess the size till I had the hinge working.
I plan to have a rod going through the baseboard and then to operate
the doors via servo's.

I take it's old brass rails? Great idea as those are not popular to use and can be better used this way. Awesome idea!  :thumb:
