I am almost sure he'll be the only real hobby there anyway  ;)

Hi Evert,

Good luck with the Hobby-X show, the days can get verrrrrrrrrry long there !

A few things to bear in mind for the show (ask me how I know !)  Make sure you get vouchers from the organizers for free parking otherwise it can get real expensive.  Take a few high chairs (barstools) for everyone that will be manning your modules, and make sure you wear comfortable shoes.  Also think about taking a large thermos flask with coffee, it beats standing in a queue.

As I have further recollections, I'll pass them on; the memory isn't as good as it used to be.

Cheers,
Steve   :happydays:

And so Hobby X came and went. I didn't take a lot of pictures but then everyone else did! Looville performed like a superstar layout and a lot of fun was had by all. We had some interesting happenings too...

Some pics:

1. The scaled display - to demonstrate HO / N / Z scales
2. The whole booth with Evert framed
3. Side table display
4. Layout closeup
5. Another view of the booth

The last morning we were up and running in record time - the show was almost over of course. We were set up in record time, sipping coffee looking down our noses at the other slow vendors.

But then the weirdest thing happened - the one line would not run at all!!! On closer inspection we noticed the peanut gallery, or is that the pigeon gallery, lodged a disagreement to the quality of the layout... Wish you could have seen Evert's face whan he figured out the birds shat on his track. >:D

Bird droppings on the track, now that is taking realism a bit to far.  :D
Well done on a successful showing.
Sorry that I could not make it.

Good Morning All,

What a awesome Weekend !!!!!
Yea it is long and tiring, but it was all worth it  :thumb:

We played trains......
And to see the kids and Adults faces when they look and comment on everything.
Thank you Ed and Juan for the help, I think we had a blast.

Next time we must make it bigger.
Organizers want more of us there.....

Cheers.

Hi Evert,

Glad to hear it went off well.   I must admit though, it was the first time I heard that a pile of sh#t stopped someone from running trains !  ???

Cheers,
Steve
