Can anybody give me some idea of where I could download sketches /drawings of model bridges, I would really like to build one but have no idea where to start

I googled railroad brige bleuprints and there are a few handy sites that popped up. Is there something in particular you are looking for? Metal bridge, wood bridge, covered bridge etc.

 I am actually looking For something made out of steel, although I am making it from plastic materials, thanks for the help Wes, much appreciated.

google is your friend.

just remember to use sufficiently strong plastic, and to have sufficient support.  even in scale form, the effects of leverage can end in disaster if your bridge is not strong enough to carry your trains.  and you do not want to pick your trains up from the floor after a 1,2m meter fall from the layout...
