Good Morning All

Did some work on my layout again  Really fun doing this.......

I built the Vollmer Farmhouse.
Placed it into position and worked off the scene with creetstone.
Then I painted the earth and covered everything with WoodlandScenics Fine Turf, StaticGrass, Bushes and some Trees.
I also did the water in the little lake.

For the moment this scene is finished.
There is always more to add and that is what make this hobby so super awesome.....
Enjoy the pictures.

Cheers, Evert

Hello All.....

Small update for a BIG job...... I decided to start with the ballasting of the track on my layout. About 60% of all the Scenery have been re-done, so I started.....
All the track have been weathered and the guy layed the track on sandpaper (to make it look like ballast) I prefer the actual ballast. I decided to go with the Fine Brown mix from WoodlandScenics. Here is a few pictures...... Enjoy

Very neatly done. :thumb:
Ballasting HO track is a tedious job, but Z scale I don't
even want to think about.

P.S. There lots of track to ballast here just in case you feel like it.

Funny thing about ballasting - all the books I've read on scenery building wants you to do it in this order:

1. Roadbed
2. Track work
3. Ballasting
4. Then the rest of the scenery

I prefer to do it Evert's way - all the work done and then the ballast, just like in real life!

Looking good even though I can't see it any more... :thumb:

Hello All......

OK, I have done quite some work to the layout, so I think it is time for a update........
Friend told me if I have ever looked at the Faller Castle I have. The scale of the kit is way out for N Scale and if I compare it is perfect for Z Scale so I decided to make a change to the landscape and add the Castle to my Z Layout.

This is going to look great I think.

Build the Scenery up with ISO Board and worked it all in with Creetstone......

Lots to follow.......

Next was to fix the Scene......
Mountain broke when it was transported to my house.
I also fitted a new Facia, so blended that into the scenery.......

Then it was time to paint the rocks and add the basic ground cover.

I wanted to get the Castle in place, so I can do the Static Grass, bushes and Trees......

So, I re-painted it....... Very happy with the out come and I had to fix a few things that was missing and broken off.

On a roll now so I decided to carry on and build the full scene......

I stripped out all the old dusty scenery in the valley, this left quite a lot of holes and broken sections.
I fixed everything with Creetstone and painted all the rocks.

The river from the mountain does not go anyware, so I decided to cut the facia and added a small bridge that make a little bit more scense to the scene.
