Good Morning Everybody

I painted wired and fitted quite a big section of track on Monday and Tuesday evening  :thumb:
2x points, a medium crossing and some filler sections.

Now there is 2 straight sections left to do, so I will paint them tonight and hopefully lay tomorrow evening.
Then I will wire everything up over the weekend.

Cheers everybody and hope you all have a awesome day and week.

Good Morning All

I finished all the track laying last night  :howzit:
So this weekend I will finish the wiring for that and then I will install the last 2 switches and fittings for the Points.

I might also move the signals as Jörg sugested

So, lots of work, but luckily all the ground work is done so it is basically just hooking everything up.

Cool, enjoy the Friday and weekend.
Speak again  :thumb:
Cheers, Evert

Good Morning All.....

I finished all the track electrical work  :thumb:
I also finished all the Push-Pull switches for the Points  :thumb:

Everything was tested and it is working VERY NICE !!!!!!!

Then last night I decided to paint the frame with the dark wood stain I always use.
This was sanded and I then glued the 3mm Hardboard on.

I will sand and cleaned it up and then the final stain coat will go on and the white strip will be painted green

Cool, more to come......
Enjoy the week and speak again soon.

Cheers, Evert

OK, so last section of the Facia also finished......  :thumb:

I searched around for nice knobs for the points. I only need 9 so to spend a bit on that is OK.
I found some cupboard pull knobs at Gelmar at N1 City  R12 each..... Awesome......

I drilled a 25mm hole, so the background I will paint black and the facia green, I like the green  :innocent:

I have also over the weekend, fitted most of the signals and took the wrong ones out and moved them.

Here is the fitting process.
I glued a piece of cork on to the foam to make them the same level as the track.
Then with my Dremel, I drilled a nice hole just smaller than the signal solenoid, so that it fit tightly in the hole.
The siding signals have a square base, so I had to cut the cork square after I made the hole.

Really worked well, so I'm quite happy.

Then I started to do the wiring of the signals.....  ???
I realized that the point is on the one module and the signal is on the other...... No what !!!!!! Ai......

OK, so it is 3 wires per point that I will have to unplug if necessary.
Computer COMM PORTS  You get a 9 pin one.

So I made it work.....
I also cut a small piece of flat Styrine to make a fitting plate.

Then, a while ago Jörg aid that if a signal is in a different position then there is a sign to indicate that, so I did some searching today and I found it

Ne 4 / So 2 - chessboard
A square board with a black and white checkerboard pattern.

The main signal is not immediately to the right of or above the track.

If, for example, for reasons of space, a main signal cannot be placed directly next to or above the track, the chess board is set up instead and the main signal itself is set up elsewhere.

However, the chessboard is also used for construction work in temporary, single-track auxiliary operations. Here a track is blocked and declared a construction track, checkerboard boards are set up for the track that is being driven in the opposite direction so that the entry signals remain valid (of course, these can no longer be set due to the lack of routes; the replacement signal is then continued).

So, I made it myself  I like it and I think it came out great.
Here is some of the signals fitted, I still have to fit 3 then that is all done

Cheers, Evert

Hi Evert,
you will never get two of the same signals so close to each other.
The one with the red arrow is incorrect, as this signal would also cause the driver to possibly stop on a switch which
is not permitted.
There is even a small sign that denotes the closest that a loco or coach my stand to a switch.
