Right, small update, but lots of work done and completed

I finished all the wiring for the track as well as the points.
I also finished all the push/pull controls for the points, they need some work still, but they do work.

So I was running trains.... what a awesome feeling and experience.
Will post some pictures later.

cheers, Evert

Now I can play with some scenery..... Think I will start with the Platform at the station.

So I received a phone call from our friend today

A while back I inquired about Wolfgang's Signals that was on his layout.
So I got 3 to test.....

When I bought the switches for the Points I was advised to buy DPDT Sliding switches.
Thank you Steve.
I connected the power for the Frogs to the one set and I wired in a Brown, Green and Yellow wire for the signals.

So today I received the Signals from Yörg to test.
They are Viessmann 14-16V AC

So, just to make sure I made sure that the sliding switches connections are all separate, so there are 2 pairs of 3 connections. (center, left and right)
Awesome, so, with my crocodile clamps I connected the lights to the AC.  :thumb: Working
Then I connected the common, brown, to the AC.
Then I connected the center, brown of the switch also to the AC.
Lastly I clamped the Green from the Signal to the Green of the switch and the Red of the Signal the the Yellow of my Switch.

And it is working
When I pull or push the rod, that is connected to the switch, the power of the track change and the signal also changes and the Train are allowed to proceed or stop.....

Super cool

Next is to make the hole in the layout and fit it to see how it looks.
Work for another evening.

Cheers, Evert

Good Evening All

So, I did some research on where and how signals should be placed and yes, in Germany the signals is on the right hand side of the track.
Mmmmmmm, small problem, not going to work on my layout, so I decided to do what works.
It is my Railroad after all
I will try to use the correct ones at the correct place so here we go.

I glued some cork for a solid base for the Signal and with my Dremel I made a hole for the signal in the position I decided on.
I had to take my bench-work in consideration also.

Then the wiring......
I wanted do do it neatly so I fitted two (Brown and White) wires for the AC power.
This I connected to the connector block where everything else for the Signal went into.
All I still have to do is to glue the wires neatly in straight lines.

Then I tested with a train.
So cool, when the point change the signal change..... VERY COOL !!!!!! Love it

There is actually a sign that is set up if the signal is on the left side of the track due to space constraints.
So there you have an extra detail to fit.

Good Morning All.....

All 3 the Signals are connected up and I'm happy with the positioning of them.

1 - At the start of the layout - normal stop go. Main Line
2 - Just before the points that go into the Station - Stop and Proceed slowly. Main Line
3 - first siding Signal.

I think it is starting to look very cool.
Hopefully I will receive my Farm Buildings today, so then I can finish all the track

Cheers, Evert

Hi Evert,
I have edited your photo a bit.
Signal. red horizontal arrow should be placed at the black horizontal arrow.
Signal, red vertical arrow is the wrong one, you need the two arm signal here as the train can turn off the mainline. Here you can fit the signal on the right (correct)
side of the track as shown by my black arrow.
You can also place the signals a bit closer to the track.

OK just so that I understand.

horizontal arrow - so if the signal is at the siding at the black arrow it will work together with that point, correct? Blue Arrow.
vertical arrow - OK that can change and then I assume the signal will then turn around to face the traffic comming out of the station, going off the layout? And will still work with that point correct? Green Arrows.

Cheers, Evert
