Picture 02 and 03 - I think the track is quite straight  :thumb:

Last bit of electrical work to do was to fit the Programmer in to the space the mountain is hiding.

Sunday Morning first task...... Picture 01 and 02.

Then I started to close the mountain
Bandage Cloth soaked in water and then in to creatstone and then draped over the mountain Styrofoam frame.
Here I have also left a few things open or unfinished to show how I have done the build.

Next is to add the rocks to finish the mountain off, but first the cloth must dry for a bit.

Regards, Evert.

Now the painting is going to start.....

So I painted the grey mix I made and used that as a base as the creatstone soak a bit of the paint in.
Then I made a very watery mix of Black and some dark brown, this will go into all the cracks and crevices and should highlight that nicely.
I left that to dry overnight.

Next was to paint the final top colours.
I started with a light grey, mixed from black and white. I almost dry brushed in on, but still enough to put down paint but not fill in the cracks.
I then added so light brown to the mix, this is used very sparingly.

More to come......

..... and the final.

I then added so light brown to the mix, this is used very sparingly.
Lastly I also added some white. This is just to highlight some areas.
All the paints was added in a top down stroke fashion.

Last little bit of effect I added some dark green and brushed that on the bottom of some rocks to represent some moss growing.

Was wondering - if you put in a nice light blue backdrop this could be ideal to take pictures too... :innocent:

And all you touch and all you see

Grandios Evert. I like the idea mentioned above to have pictures taken of your trains with this set-up.

Nice work.  :thumb:

Then...... something I have never tried or done.

Paint the track  :howzit:
So I tested a small test piece....
Picture 01.....

I used light brown and grey mix to do the sleepers - Pocture 02
And for the tie plates I used red, black and a bit of light brown to get a rusty colour - Picture 03

Then the painting started...... WOW  took 2hours to finish one section of Peco HO track.
But the result is awesome !!!!!! I love it......

Next the the ballast and then some more painting to show the dirt......

Enjoy and speak again soon.
Regards, Evert

Good Evening All.....

Yea, so call me crazy, but I decided to paint the N Track also...... and wow, it actually made such a big difference. :thumb:
Then I decided to stay a bit closer to scale and I did the ballasting with the WoodlandScenics Fine Ballast. I think it looks great.....

More to come soon.....
Cheers, Evert.

Lots of effort for a programming track.
But somebody has to ask, seeing as you are doing so many different scales,
what about O scale and 1 scale track?  ;D
