z Scale Vollmer Kit

Good Morning All,

So last night I decided to start the build of the Vollmer burning house kit.

Made sure I understand the kit and the plans.
Then I decided on the colours and before I remove any parts from the spruce I started to paint them. The plastic is to shiny and does not look real.
Pic 02 - wooden frames I dry-brushed with a light straw brown colour.
Pic 03 and 04 - before and after. I mixed a thin wash of brown and black, painted 3 or 4 coats over where I want to show more detail.

I have build a little bit more on the burning house  :thumb:
Such a awesome kit and with minimal sanding needed. Everything fits perfectly together.

3rd pic is just to give an idea of the size.

Good Morning,

Last night I glued the four walls to the base and I fitted the glass and the curtain paper.

Then I also started with the interior that is showing from the burnt away roof.
This is still way to clean for a burned house. The idea is to dust it with black and brush light grey on the edges of the wood. Will have to see if it can work.

Small update today....

I gave the interior a very light spray with black and then I dry-brushed black and some lights grey on certain places.
I quite happy with the out come and I think I'm going to leave it as is, I do not want to overdo it.

Then once the roof was done and I pre-fitted all the parts, I glued the roof on, this was quite a challenge because of the inside of the building and obviously the size, it is just soooooo small.

I managed and then I also fitted all the details, facia, gutters, downpipes and little roof at the front door.
I love this building and I think it really came out awesome  :biggrin:
