I have a friend in Somerset West with a nice G scale layout in his garden. Told him about this forum so hope that he joins as well. So then you at least won't be the only large scale modeller in our midst.
Jörg.

There was this guy in Tokai - very rich. He was a retired Admiral of the Royal Navy or something and his wife was the real money. The Tokai golf course was built on their land.

Anyway, this guy had live steam O scale trains! Lots of them! The were radio controlled by servo's on board. This all was back in 1999 when I attended the SA Model Convention.

Brian Franklin will know who this guy is/was.

Also in your neck of the woods were a guy called Jimmy Alexander. He had one of the nicest detailed OO layouts I have ever seen. Wonder what happened to him. He was getting on is years and this was back in 2000/1.

So, welcome here Wesley. Please post us a pic or two of your dioramas.

Hi,

Jimmy Alexander moved to Napier in the Southern Cape a few years ago after his wife passed on.  I don't know if he has a layout, but according to my uncle who lives there, he still dabbles in model railroading.

Cheers,
Steve

I seem to remember seeing that fantastic layout during the convention that I attended. About 2004/5?
