Hi all,
so after lots of cutting I have a pile of styrofoam strips which I then glued together.

Then I mixed some plaster of paris and filled the squares.
The result 25 x 25 x 4 mm "concrete" slabs.
First 14 done, now I need to make lots more.
Still need to clean up the edges a bit with sand paper.

In the meantime while some more plaster sets on the kitchen table I am busy
on my turntable.
First paint to weather the wood.

Hi all,
so after looking at my 25 x 25 mm tiles for a few days I decided to try bigger ones.
Made a new mold and produced a batch of 50 x 50 mm tiles.
I like these much more.
But now do I lay them centered along the center line on the right in the picture?
Or do I lay them along the center line to each side as I have it in the left of the picture?
Any feed back please.

Very nice Jörg,
Mmmmmm, think I would do the center full tile and then cut the sides. Might look better when you look into the round house.
Cheers, Evert

Hi all,
so after looking at this for a day or two I decided to lay them along the center line.
I've only done four of them, they break easily.
First two.

I have to undercut them on one side so that they fit over the ties and can be snug
to the rail.
Four done.

But now I understand that you think I should do it the other way.
Let me sleep over that a night or two.

Good Morning Jörg,
I wonder....... what if you built a grid out of paper or thin card, then you place that inbetween the track and pour the plaster in each grid square.
Let it set for hour or so and then pull the card out. Then you should get a nice looking edge and no cutting and filing required
Hope this make sense, else I will try to explain better or we can chat on Saturday.
Cheers, Evert

Now that is a nifty idea.
This sanding and filing is making a huge mess.

Now I'm trying to figure out what material to use that doesn't stick to the plaster.
Any ideas?

In the meantime I've been busy on my turntable, fitted light in the operators shed, as well as a flashing yellow light
on the roof of the shed that will flash while the turntable is operating.
New decoder fitted, with all wiring for signals as well.
