Hi everybody,

fitted some signals this weekend and connected two to the signal modules.
The other two have just been connected to power to give one colour, not switchable yet.
The signal in the far left distance is currently facing the wrong way, just to check.
Will be set correctly later.
To connect the signals under the layout I cut myself a few veroboard strips and glue these under the layout.
Then I can easily solder all the wires from the signal to these.
Second photo.

Aloha everybody,
no update for a while, sorry, had little feeling to do anything.
Then one evening I start fitting the reed switches for the signal automatic system and promptly broke two.
Left everything and two night later tried again and broke another one. WT^%(<$@
Anyway walked away from the layout for a while and started this weekend again, now all except one has been
successfully fitted.   :thumb:
Started wiring them up as well. Crawling around under the layout is no fun and I'm also not 25 anymore.
So I got a plastic beach chair from Plastics warehouse, a piece of plywood and four caster wheels.
Perfect height and comfortable.  :thumb:

Sometimes out of the blue you get an idea.
In post 1163 on page 78 I show my partly assembled signal tower, but I've never been
happy with the position.
I wanted it this side of the station to also act for the loco yard, but it took to much space away
from the loco yard.
Why I didn't think about this earlier beats me, but just place it on the outside.
Will have to cut a piece of wood, but that should be no problem.

Sometimes all we have to do is just walk away. This is a great hobby, but sometimes it can be VERY frustrating. The secret is to recognize those moments, and just walk away for a day or 5...

The signal tower looks fine there... :thumb:

Just great there Jörg.  :thumb:

Use same motto here, just walk away and next time you have an even better idea.

Great stuff Jörg.

Hi everybody,

small update, base made for the signal tower.  :thumb:
Height with a piece of cork is perfect, electric loco
with extended panto graph clears it easily.

A small parcel arrived from Germany and it contained my Faller
car system bus.
Also the arcades and pavement materials.
Busy working out the best arrangements.

I ordered a few buildings for my city and some of them arrived in aforementioned
parcel.
So today with the rain this morning I simply told my boss, myself , that I won't
be working today.
Out came the kits and glue.  :thumb:
I have been playing with the idea to build one building in a triangle.
First photo should make the reason obvious.
But of course there must be a entrance and at least some form of shop front as well.
I have now done only one section, or half, of the front of this building and am trying to work out
the rear and sides now.

Aloha,
small update on the triangle building.
Took all the angles from the board and transferred them to a clean sheet of paper
so that I can work out cut lines.
This is my current idea, red lines are the cut lines. I think you get the idea.
Its turning out not to be a triangle after all.
