Good Morning All.......

OK, so this is pretty much the last big challenge for the build.
The handrails is the last thing I have to build.
So I started last night. Took me an hour just to cut them, 32 posts !!!!

Wood Glue is not working because of the angle, so Superglue it is.

Cheers,
Evert.

Good Morning All,

Friday Evening it was me and the Handrails.....
Well I got them all glued in to place and painted green.
Then on Saturday I test fit all the tops of the rails. Worked 100%  :thumb:
I sprayed them all white and it was final glued into place.

Then for the in between sections.... I cut 1mm paper strips.
I first measure every hand rail, so that I could glue the strips all at the same height.
This took a really looooong time, but it cam out GREAT !!!!! I love it.....

Enjoy the Pictures.....
Regards,
Evert

Sunday it was time for the actual Mill

The Faller Kit I bought was already built, but not very well, so fixing a few things some sanding and re-paint.
The walls of the kit is also brick, and it should be wood, so I had to change that.

So I cut some paper and scribed 1mm lines on to the paper.
Glued it in place and then painted the same colour as the rest of the building.
The Grass Roof was also way to light, so I had to darken the plastic colour.

Next, I have to go and buy some green spray. Then I can paint the structure of the beams for the direction turning of the mill.
Also the blades must go green.

Cool, enjoy the pictures.....
Regards,
Evert

Good Morning All,

Yesterday after work I quickly went to Clowns and bought some Green Tamiya Spray and some C channel.
Smallest they make is 1mm x 1,5mm.

I re-built the frame for the turning of the Mill and sprayed it green. It is gloss, so I still have to tone it down, and it is to bright, but that is easy.
I also painted and fitted the gutters, little bit oversize, but I think it round the building off nicely. Just need to fit the down pipes still.

Hopefully I can do this tonight

Regards,
Evert

Good Morning All,

Small update from last night......
I painted the green frame as well as the blades with a brown and black water mixture.
This is to tone down the brightness of the Racing Green as well as to make it Matt and not Glossy.

Have to say, it worked better than I expected.
Then I also painted the tips of the frame white with some red caps.

Think I will tackle the doors of the building next

Cheers,
Evert  :thumb:

Good Morning All......

Small things was done the past week. And I was in bed with Flu :(

I made the sails for the Blades......
Cutting it from tissue paper and colour it black with a Sharpie.
I also printed a 3mm diameter star for the centre. Think it really came out awesome.

More to follow....

Next was the Doors.

Sanded them to fit properly and then spray them green.
Fitted perfectly. Once done I painted a black/brown wash over them to show some detail and to take away the gloss of the green paint.

From the pictures I found on the Internet, there is some stairs going up to the sloped deck which is used to pull the logs from the water.
There is also one on the dispatch side where the wood is packed on train or other transport.

So, where do I find anything, so why not just make it
I took the 3 layer ply and split it into the 3 layers, so now I have 0.5mm think wood to work with.
I cut all the sections as best I could and glue it all together.

I followed the same process for the ladders on the slopped deck.

Last picture is just to show you all how small this really are.

Now this Project is really starting to get to the final stages.

I need to add the pown pipes for the Gutters.
I had some 1mm Styrine, but that does not really work and it is way to bulky.
So I thought what about Solder Wire. The one I use is 0.7mm and it is easy to bend and it really looks good.

So I made them all, glues them in place and painted them grey as per the pictures I found.

And so this project also came to a end....

There is still some small things to add once it go on the the layout, but for now this is done.
I love it and I'm really happy with the way it turned out.

Thank you for all the comments and following along with the build.

Cheers,
Evert
