Latex glue

Hi all,

does anybody know where I can get white latex glue in the Cape, preferably Northern Suburbs.
Please don't tell me google, I've just wasted a lot of time there and the closes I can find something is USA and I have to buy 1000kg min order quantity.  :blech: :eek:

What are you trying to do with Latex Glue.

Have you tried these guys? Same place I got the Molding Latex.

Hi Jorg,

I have always assumed, maybe wrongly, that latex paint is the US terminology for what the rest of the world calls acrylic paint.

Nothing naughty.  >:D

I want to use Latex to glue my ballast, as latex is a rubber it transfers less running noise to the baseboard than using cold glue.
Wolfgang's layout was all done with latex glue. Much quieter than my previous layout.  :thumb:

The beauty of the latex glue is when lifting the tracks to change or add in the future. The latex with ballast stays soft and yet keeps it all on the cork and board  :D  Cold glue and ballast is a no-go.

1L for R. 150,00
The sales man wanted to know how much I want, it comes in 25l drums.  >:D
But they do sell by the litre and also have old milk bottles to fill for you.  :thumb:

Aha! Good to know. I don't know latex glue all that well.

Does it set up clear or milky?

Water soluble both before and after setting?

Clean up brushes with water ?

Okay a bit more feed back on using liquid latex.
Clean your brush immediately if not sooner. The moment this stuff starts to set which is very quickly the brush is ruined.
I poured a bit into a cup and let it dry.
Pulled it out now, it has a slight brown colour to it, but is transparent.
It feels like handling a condom.  >:D
