Hi all,

little by little this project is progressing.
I've started to think about holding the body of both loco and tender for the final spray painting and have come up with
a plan.
Cut some wood, got some M 5 threaded rod and nuts and put my plan into action.
Result,  :thumb:
Note the use of wing nuts for easy adjust ability.
I've made a second one for the tender as well.

Here's how the tender body is held.
Wing nut from the inside as this clamp works the other way. It spreads to hold the body.

Then I discovered that I can use a vice to hold my project to work on it.  :thumb:
I've also got the air pipe for my new air brush sorted and did a few practice sprays on some paper
this morning to get to know my double action internal mix air brush.
I had up to now only had experience with a external mix single action air brush.

Hi all,

well I have finally fitted all the parts.  :thumb:
Now I need to clean everything, fine grit blasting.
Basically sand blasting, but using fine aluminium oxide powder.
Then primer.
Then paint.

Hi all,

a semi successful day.
While grit blasting the loco body I unfortunately damaged the one smoke deflector.  :lamer: :-\ ??? ::) :eek2:
Will have to repair this now.
Anyway I did blast the other parts as well.

It's coming together very nicely! Well done so far.

I might have missed it somewhere but I saw no centre pickup on the loco, or will that go to the tender?

Hi all,

unfortunately I have had to strip the tender body again as I've had a mishap
with the painting process.  :(
But I've now painted the loco body and cab.
Next step is to get the Led's into the lamps in front and the cab.

Hi all,

last night I started with the wood paneling in the cab.
Also a nice way to hide the wires for the cab light.
I also cleaned and painted the headlight reflectors white.
Now to carefully glue the tiny Led's into the headlights.

Hi all,

first Led is in the headlight.
Has to be positioned carefully and secured with clear coat. This allows me time to get it positioned nicely.

Hi all,

well this morning I fitted the circuit boards for the lights inside the loco.
Temporary connected to my power supply to test.
Decoder will go in later.

Hi all,

a bit more progress on this project.
Tender has been resprayed, I didn't quite get a clean line between the red of the buffer
beam to the black of the rest of the tender body. I guess that i'll have to help a bit with a small brush.
