Good morning everybody,

small update from my side.
Busy making a template for cutting the plywood for the northern station entrance.
Glued a few pieces of cardboard together and have now clamped it in place.
Will layout some track when I get a chance and see how it all fits together.
Then I can cut the template and see how I like it.

Good evening everybody,
so tonight I got out some of my track and started laying everything out as planned.
Will try and optimize the sidings over the next few days.
Don't really have the space that I had panned on.
This is the first time that I have laid out the actual track for this side of the station.
Suggestions welcome.

Good evening,

no physical progress to report on, but I have been planning, thinking about various operational
scenarios and basically just taking my time, not to rush anything now.
If you look back at page 4 of this thread, reply #49 I laid out the other side of the station on our dining room table.
I discovered that I was not happy with the platform width and changed the plan a bit.
Looking at this side of the station I wanted to have one more point, so that I can have a Loco waiting track at the end of the
platform.
Last night an idea started form in my mind and tonight I changed it around a bit and now have the Loco waiting track.  :thumb:
As a result the platform width increases from 70mm to 100mm. I'm very chuffed about that as I plan to have nicely
detailed platforms.
I could use a double slip as well and have a siding on the other side as well.

Aloha,

small update from me.
Nearly every evening this week I have done some changes to this section.
This is to me the best one so far.
Will leave this for a few days and see if I get any other ideas.
I have used one double slip instead of points.
I have also used different colours for writing and arrows to let you understand better what my ideas are.
Any comments?
Any ideas?
Let me have them please.

Aloha,

some more ideas.
This time I am playing with the connection to the sawmill.
Still don't even know if its going to be a sawmill there.

Turned the sawmill around, but like this you can't look into the doors.

Good Morning

Nice  :thumb:
But, I think also turn it around with the doors to the front, but align it to the track.
Also I would move it a little bit to the beck of the scene, then you have space for the lake and you can make it flow off the layout to the front underneath a small trestle bridge.
Think that can look awesome.....

Cheers,
Evert

Ideas, ideas and more ideas.
Okay my new idea is not to have the normal track going to the sawmill, but to only have the
narrow gauge and then have the main loading at the station.
I do have some space there for sidings.
With narrow gauge I can have much sharper radii curves which will help.
Stay tuned. :thumb:
