For a friend only to realize it won't suit his needs. I then decided to keep it...
This is what it looked like when I got it home.
-
I've finally made a start on it.
1. Removed all the track
2. Strengthened the frame and added a piano hinge at the back
3. Added a strut to prop it open so I can work on the 'lectrics (not my favorite past-time)
Looking a little "bare" and sad...
-
Got the track work sorted. Took me bloody 2.5 hours. The first 30 mins was spent looking for glasses...
-
Very nice, start fresh from scratch.
Looking at the layout I would have done the same.
Please don't place a building over the little lake again.
Ha,ha, 30 mins looking for a tool or glasses, I know that feeling.

I got hold of the original Noch documentation just to see where things went wrong. I could see this because the previous owner chopped up a few pieces of track "replicate" a point...
I then looked at it all and saw the "mistakes" made. According to the Noch plan (which have layout plans for Roco, Fleischmann, Trix in N and even Marklin Z) there should be a third line at the front, among others.
Then I noticed the tunnel - too small for a double track. Man was I pissed off. Luckily Evert came along and pointed out I was looking at the Z scale plan - bliksem! It took me only 2 months to realize that!!!!
At least progress are being made...
-
The tunnel that's single, thought to be double, but shouldn't be double, but single... I need coffee... :eek2:

The plan

What it could/should look like...

Stupid Marklin Z plan....

Hi Ed,
are you fitting the extra points at the ends for a possible extension later?
Have fun with the building.

Not at all. I want to keep this small and contained - easy to take to a show and run some trains.
-
What a pity, bridge across and you could run a train from Nochville to Looville. ;D
:stir:
-
True. I'll have a chat to Looville and see how he feel's about it...
-
Nice...... Awesome Ed. Really great little layout.
Mmmmmmm, Jörg, I like the idea, NochVille - Looville..... :stir:

Yes, why not. Just have to pull Looville’s standards up a little... :peep:
