What I find very interesting is that Big Boy's motion arms work the same but later on different sequence - I wonder if that was caused by wheel slip?

I guess so, I suppose that the front set of drivers also has a bit less weight on them so they could slip easier.
What I found interesting in this video is that the driver axles are hollow, you can look through them
European loco's to my knowledge have solid axles.
