3D print 1 :1 structure
« on: August 06, 2020, 10:39:57 AM »
Although not railroad related, I thought this would be the best folder for the link:

Wonder how long it will take to get to the everyday commercial stage ?

The technology in 3D printing is quite amazing to say the least.
I found a video this week by German engine parts manufacturer Mahle, they can now print pistons for your cars engine.
Takes 12 hours for six pistons for a Porsche GT2 RS twin turbo with only 700 hp.
Imagine what model trains we can design and print soon.  :thumb:

I love this technology. Now just to learn e.g. CAD and to procure the 3D printer.

Love what Luke Towan does with his 3D printer.

Ciao
