Hello All,
I had a request from someone in Jhb to ask if I could build them a Z Scale layout.
They pretty much just gave me the size of the space they have and they sent me all Z stuff they have.
So after some searching we decided on this layout.
Marklin layout number 6.2.4 out of the 0296 TrackBook:

Wow Evert, very nice. :thumb:

Good Morning All,
So on the 11th of September 2021 I started with the layout.
Found all the track and layed it out on one piece of extruded foam-board.
Connected power and tested the trains the guy have.
The only buildings he have is a Kibiri Station, Kibri Platform and a Small Oil Facility also Kibri (he started to build this already)
So I built the Station and finished and fixed the Oil Facility.
Think it can work quite well on the layout
-
Kibri Oil Facility.....
-
The back of the layout have the road going underneath the track, so I carved the foam out slightly and added some inclines.
This was shaped, covered with whet tissue paper and finished off with some creetstone.
-
Then it was time to paint and do some landscaping
Paint the foam brown and while the paint was still wet I added the WoodlandScenics grass.
Once I was happy I sprayed it with a soapy mixture of Woodglue and Water.
Once it was all dry, I added a randome mix of 2mm and 4mm Static Grass.
-
And yes, the guy wanted me to ballast the track also, so this is also happening
-
Looking good. :thumb:
Have you started a layout building company now?
-
Good one Jörg.
-
LOL  at Jörg...... Noooooo, it will most probably be the last one.
I never get round to do my own stuff...... My layouts is just standing  and that is not good.
So no...... no more...... I'll help with building stuff, but not layouts.
-
I finally received the bridges
So they was fitted over the weekend and I finished most of the ballasting as well as the grass.
-
I also received some trees in the week. One thing I do not make, so I buy them.
Bought 30 from Chris to start off with, might need another 10 or so.
And I have 10 Pine trees, but will go and buy another 50.
I decided to start adding the trees as well as some bushes...... I think it looks GREAT !!!!!! I love it :thumb:
Cheers, Evert

Good Morning All.......
Yea, its been a while. work, work....... life, work, and more work.......
Atleast I spent a little bit of time here and there and I managed to finish the layout in the past week :thumb:
Everything was cleaned and tested and I'm happy that it works well and I think this layout came out very good.
Enjoy the pictures

And some more.......

OK...... So this is what I did with the wiring.
I used my Dremel and cut 20mm deep grooves into the foam.
Wiring was neatly put in place and glues in place with Paintersmate Silicone
Cheers, Evert
