Good Evening All,
So last night I decided that before I build the Platforms I should rather build the Station.
So here we go.....
The idea is to make everything as realistic as possible, so I will be painting all parts, as I do not like the plastic look of some of the parts.
I have also decided to keep the colours as per the kits as far as possible, but with realistic effects.
I painted all the walls, windows and wood trims.
The bricks I painted brick colour as that funny brown, just look wrong.
Windows, was repainted White with a grey wash
Walls, was painted cream, to get rid of the glossy plastic look
Bricks was a colour changed.
Wood was painted brown, then musterd colour dry brushed and then painted with black wash.
Enjoy the pictures
Cheers, Evert

And a few more....

Looks good. :thumb:
Little tip, try not to use the base, those platforms are much to short. Rather build your own
platforms completely from scratch.

Yes, thank you Jörg, the Platform does in anycase not fit my track shape. I'll use it as a example, but will build my own :thumb:

Love this, nice Evert! :thumb:

Just found this video by our colleague in Sweden.
Okay its only for the platform roof, but maybe an idea for you.

Good Morning All,
So, the build have started
I do not like the way that you have to build each wall of the building complete and then assemble everything afterwards.
I sand every piece and like to pre-fit before I glue.
So I use the instructions as guidelines only and make sure the correct parts go where they should.
So I start to assemble the 4 walls and to make sure they are square I use my very reliable Lego Blocks
Starting to look very nice now :thumb:
Enjoy the pictures.
Cheers, Evert

I also did the Goods Shed as it is a separate build to the main building.
Same here, I first got the walls assembled and square and then I add the window frames and the trimmings.
I'm going to use the base for this part as it is cobble stones and will look very nice.
I repainted it grey as the funny brown colour does not work for me.
Then I dry-brushed some brown and green over that. Lastly I made a black wash and painted that over and left it to dry properly.
I still need to do something with the Doors, last picture, but not sure yet. Ideas are welcome :howzit:
Cheers and speak again soon.

Hi Evert,
those obviously wooden doors, so a brown base color, weathered differently as the one door is under the roof.
Maybe try and open one door, concrete floor in the goods shed then you can also detail the inside.
-
Going nicely! :thumb:
-
I also painted the roofs, kept it the same redish brown colour with a Black Wash over.
The final result came out slightly darker, but I do like it and I think it looks good.
Roof were fitted, not a easy task to get all that lined up.
Then I built the chimney's and I also decided to fit the wooden fascia at the ends of the roof.
The door that is still not in place will be glued in, in an open position.
Currently I'm busy sorting out the interior.
I already printed out the floor and drew out the profile for the waiting room benches.
Will put some pictures up of that later in the week.
Cheers, Evert

Hello Everybody,
Update on the Station.... I have been working on the interior. Quite a bit of work and it take a lot of time to build.
I downloaded so me wooden floor and concrete floors from the internet.
Picture 01 ad 02 show that.
Then I spent some more time on the internet looking at interiors for railway stations.
Found a few very nice ones.
Then I downloaded some wood pictures and I designed some benches for the inside of the station.
I also got some train pictures and a map of the German Railway.

This weekend I sat and I started to assemble everything.
Floor was done and I added 2 walls for the office. Door and Windows for the ticket office.
Then the benches, sjoe, this took long, whole day to build 3
But I love it, think it look really cool.
Now I just need passengers
-
I love that wooden floor. :thumb:
Benches look great.
Looks like you are having fun.
-
Craziness...
I normally just buy them in plastic... I have most of a pub sorted.
Well done! :thumb:

Very nice Evert. Love the finishing of the floor. Super. :thumb:

Hello all,
Very small update on the Station.
I fitted the interior walls as well as the doors, all prints of the actual plastic after I painted it.
Now I just need some detail for the interior.

Nice going Evert! :thumb:

Looking awesome Evert. The depth of the flagstone joints is way out of proportion; I suggest some grouting may be needed if you want to avoid personal injury claims !

So, last night I fitted the Goods section of the Station in place.
I have also covered the cobble stone with some creatstone to cover some of the depth of the joints between the stones.
Then everything was painted again and I think it looks good now.
Not finished yet, but I can now finish the interior also.
Cheers and speak again soon.

Progress have been a bit slow, but I was waiting for parts and some details.
So this weekend I was hard at work and the interior is pretty much finished now
I made some cupboards out of bluefoam.
I printed and made some automatic ticket machines.
I also painted and fitted a computer desk and chair from Busch.
I still want to add some people in the office as well as the station, but I can not find any locally at the moment, so I will wait for that.
Here is some pictures....
Cheers, Evert

Awesome, I like the computer desk, the mouse even has a wire. :thumb:
-
I hate to pi$$ on your parade (I lie, I love it >:D), but a computer desk seems a little out of place on a steam era station desk. Maybe an Enigma machine ?
Steve :peep:

Hi Evert, we love it......... especially........ the mouse........ ;) ;)
