Wonderful news!
You might not know yet, but I got roped into the Cape Model and Toy club recently and straight into the committee for my trouble
One of the things Alan and Angus was striving for is a train only meet - this is now on!
Details:
Theo Marais Park Milnerton
20 / 21 February 2015
I think the Friday is for the setup only and the Saturday will be the "show" day.
I am so excited!!!

More info from Angus and Anita below. I have the forms if you want to sell or display - drop me an email or pm with your email address and I'll send you the form.
Please we need working layouts displayed.
Wesley, I think we need to see some of your work too. O scale is not common in SA.
Hi all you Train Enthusiasts the show is happening on the 21st February 2015 at Theo Marais Sports Club in Milnerton
We would like to have a few people with running, working modules to display their sets. We would like all scales to be represented. If you would like to display, please contact me on asap@telkomsa.net or 021 558 4037 / 082 450 9159.
Tables for display will be free.
All members and non-members wishing to sell railway related items will be charged our normal rates.
Please Note: Only train related items will be allowed to be sold at this show.
The hall will be open on Friday for people to setup their train displays. Please just contact me as to the time you would like to be at the hall. The hall does have an alarm and there is Security on the grounds.
PLEASE SEND YOUR COMPLETE FORMS TOGETHER WITH PROOF OF PAYMENT TO anitapkyle@gmail.com

Hi Ed
This is great news. Ill definately attend and maybe bring a diorama or 2 with. Dont have enough stuff to fill a table though.
-
Wesley, send me some pictures and sizes and I'll go chat to the organisers.
Send to email address under my avatar/picture.

Hi Ed
Ill try take some pictures of the diorama Im currently busy with tonight. Should have it done by Feb.
Ive got a gondola aswell as a box car I can bring. Maybe 1 or 2 other goodies aswell.
Let me know if I can help with anything.
-
Cool! Will be seeing Angus tonight and have a chat about it. How big is your dioramas?
-
Just a reminder, the closing date for entries to this show is this coming Monday, the 2nd of February.
I have 2 trade tables and a little modular layout (if I manage to finish the track laying :P)...
I'll have a corner for our forum if you want to swing by and meet the faces.
-
So far I know of 3 N scale layouts, 1 HO Marklin and a live steam O scale (or bigger - its a sit on).
Then, Wesley's lovely O scale diorama...
-
I would like to bring Wolfgang's layout, but its a bit to big to kart there for one day. >:D

That sounds awesome..... I can't wait. It's going to be awesome..... :thumb:
-
I cant wait either. Looking forward to meeting you guys.
-
Ed, I have a quick question for you. Will there be a power point at Wolfgang's table?
Reason I ask, I'm considering to bring my laptop and set up a slide show of his layout.
Let me know.
Cheers.
-
You will have to request a power outlet - might be difficult with all the layouts needing power. Worth a try?
The meeting is tomorrow night, but it seems the layouts will be around the outside and the trade tables on the inside so probably not. But maybe you can set up a laptop with John van Ryneveld who'll have a Marklin layout there?
-
Great, I know John so might just do that then.
-
Hands up if you can't wait for the weekend :howzit: :howzit: :howzit:
-
:howzit: :howzit: :howzit:
Just hope that my eye is better by then, otherwise I won't be able to see very much.

From what time to what time must I be there Ed?
-
The public will attend from 9am to 2pm. Your display must be ready by 8:45am.
The hall will be open by 7am already, should you want to attend then already.

It might be a while as I need to get some wiring in from the US and complete that before I can think of anything else...
In the mean time I am going to start work on the other modules I have at home...10 years on the go already...
I did not take a photo of your table at all. I am so ashamed...
