Hi Steyn
Lovely layout, BUT unfortunately you'll never be rewarded for your "time, effort or money" put into a layout. Weirdest thing...
My advice is to give an indication of the price you want. Oh, also the location. Layouts make for difficult and/or expensive transport or postage. ;)
-
Oh, regarding price, work on pricing items individually and add them all up. Do think of "second hand" prices.
SA is one of the most difficult markets I have come across.
Good luck with the sale! Nice little layout to take to shows for someone! :thumb:

Hi Andries,
very nice layout, I can see that you put a lot effort into it.
Regards Jörg.
-
Hi All,
indeed, I understand the second hand values are dismal, and therefor I do not expect a lot, merely a good home.
The layout is in Somerset West, but can travel to Cape Town and the surrounds.
I was thinking R7500 negotiable.
Thoughts on pricing would be appreciated.

I almost forgot,
I am also willing to swop for Marklin C-Track, Marklin digital decoders/encoders, and Marklin locomotives.
Kind Regards,
-
Hi Steyn,
Nice layout. I hope you find a good home for the layout.
Ciao
-
I was thinking R7500 negotiable.
Seems reasonable... number of locomotives, wagons, etc?
Lastly, if you are not in a hurry, then please take your time. I'll ask around as quite a few people lately are willing to take on layouts.
-
Hi BigEd,
currently there is only a single Electric Type Locomotive, with roughly 10 industrial wagons, and 3 long passenger coaches. I will take some more pictures this weekend of the wagons. Everything is Fleischmann, I was very particular when I bought.
I also have a friend that is willing to let his set go, which is identical to mine, but not on a layout, with the addition of a 2-6-0 Steam Locomotive.
Take note that all the switches are manual, but the layout it digital, so one can run mulitple trains without a problem.
Kind Regards,
-
Hi,
I had a quick look and that Starter set is the Fleischmann Startset N Digital 931283 - It sold on eBay a while ago for about 298 euro, about R4300 with our current exchange.
So R7500 for everything should be OK, but I think it will be difficult to sell.
But as Ed said, if possable, take your time, the correct buyer will come along.
Cheers, Evert (LooVille)

Hi,
maybe get a table and bring it to the next toy collectors fair on the 15th of July.
Have the layout running with a for sale sign.
Just a idea.
Cheers.

Great Idea Jörg :thumb:
Yea, bring the layout with to our next show the 15th of July. I will have mine there also, not for sale though :)
Cheers.
-
Thank you All,
good idea to come and display it.
Note that the price was just a guestimate, and I will accept the highest offer.
As long as it goes to a good home.
Kind Regards,
-
Steyn, if you want you can bring the layout with to the show - I have 3 tables at the show of 1.8m each. Come run your trains and sell your layout!
