Title: Trans Europ Express

Hi All,

After seeing this set running on Wolfgang's layout I wanted one in N Scale.
So I started my search..... But they are really scarce and then if you find one it is quite expensive. Start at about R3000 without shipping.  :(

Then Ed mailed me about a guy that is selling some stuff for extremely good prices.
Wow !!!!!!! I found a TEE in N Scale. From the pictures it looks OK, but the end loco was damaged and it is unboxed, but at least the papers is there.
And the guy also had 3 car the extension

So I bought the Loco set for R950 and the 3 car add on set for R550.
Oh, and all the passenger cars have lights fitted....

I will take them all apart and clean service and fix what I can.

So here is some pictures.....
Loco is cleaned and serviced and oiled, and I have to say, run quite well for the state it was in.

Pic 01 - 03 is the pix from bid or buy
The rest is me taking apart and cleaning.

Cheers,
Evert

Good Afternoon all.....

And all 5 coaches is clean and working well also  :thumb:
Wow, was they dirty.....
The original owner mush have smoked or something..... They were sticky and yellow gunk. The water I cleaned them with was brown  >:(
It is sad to see that people do not look after this.

But now they are good as new, wheels also perfect again so pickup for the lights is not a problem.
I might think of changing the lights. Maybe add a CAP as they are extremely finicky and I do not like the flicker.

But I'm happy now, as I have a awesome set that is quite rare which is in fairly good condition.

Pic 01 is the before and after of the wheel cleaning....

Cheers,
Evert

It's always dangerous to ask me to find you something - I will! I just love to hand out someone else's money

Those guys are looking really spiff! Well done! :thumb:

It's time we run them again on my layout... :innocent:
