Post by: Steve Smith on March 01, 2016, 12:12:37 PM
Hi guys,

I am looking for 2 lengths of new Micro Engineering or Atlas code 55 flextrack with wood ties.   Does anyone have any they would be prepared to part with ?

Steve

Hi Steve, I must have a look where mine are. I got a few, but I think that they are Peco, with a collection that I bought some time ago.
Where are you in SA?
Regards Jörg.

Hi Jorg,

I am in Wellington, which for some Cape Town folks is considered out in the boonies or upcountry.

I have Peco code 55 flex, but am looking for either Micro Engineering or Atlas, both of which do not have the lower second transverse web.

Cheers,
Steve

The Atlas and ME track also have different tie spacing. Especially bridge track...

Hi Steve, Wellington that's around the corner.  :)
I often visit Bontebok Ridge outside your town on my bike.
I will have a look what track this is.

Ed, I am looking to use the rail only, and will discard the ties.  The rail will be used for bridge track and as guard rails.

Jorg, thanks and please let me know if you have any.

Cheers,
Steve

Pity we don't have some of the track roll Terry Tegner had. 2mm stuff from the Uk mob.

Okay I found the box, there is only one length of N scale flex track, no name on it, but Italy. So must be Lima or Rivarossi. Don't know if it is code 55.
I don't know if it will be any use to you, but if you like when you come past Bellville let me know and you are welcome to have a look at it.

Hi Jorg,

Thanks for the feedback.   AFAIK Lima never made code 55 track, only code 80.

Cheers,
Steve

One of the advantages of having a disorganized train room; I found 4 lengths of Micro Engineering code 55 track that I bought a few years ago and forgot about.

The bridges are back on track (pun intended) !  ;D

Cheers,
Steve

Has happened to me as well, normally after having bought what I needed only to find that I have it already.  ::) :innocent:
