Title: PRASA AFRO4000 series locos

Ok, so the new Prasa AFRO4000 series locos are running the rails.  the new VERY modern diesel locos are something to behold...

So the question is... what to do to model these...   I found this on the Interwebby thingy...

SudExpress Models makes a HO and N scale model of the EURO4000 which is the same loco.  Not available in PRASA colours, but I am sure it will be an easy enough paint job to redo a few of these...

I have not been able to find to many of them anywhere, but it seems that they are in the £226.50 price range, without postange, and bump up to £336.50 with Sound!
times that with 17 to get to a SA Rand price...

not cheap...

Yup Ed, and then it needs to be stripped, and repainted!   Unfortunately there are nobody else that makes a model of these yet...  so this is an option, if you really want these on your Modern SPOORNET layout.

But if you do have a MODERN SPOORNET layout, chances are that your layout will not work correctly, and trains will be crashing into each other, if they even make it around the track...   >:D :stir:

Any publications with de definitive design?

Hallo

I have seen the Sudexpress locos alive and well at both the Marklinist in benoni and at the Model Train shop in Randburg.
I was told that Sudexpress has made about 25 HO models in Prasa colours for Prasa, they are around !
a fantastic nice model from sudexpress - if you are serious into SAR, here is a masterpiece -

I am awaiting the n scale one that is to be released in this year 2016, but not in Prasa colours - pity - wil alter mine to Prasa colours.
